  • Associate Professor of Spanish, Dr. Rachel Haywood-Ferreira (left), received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities for this coming year!
  • Associate Provost for Faculty and Professor of Spanish, Dr. Dawn-Bratch Prince (center), is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship!
  • Dr. Aili Mu (right), Associate Professor of Chinese, is the recipient of the Franklin R. Buchanan Prize for Curricular Materials.

 

We’d like to take this opportunity to highlight some exciting things happening around the department- check out finished and upcoming projects!
  • LAS Week is coming up! The week of February 12 will be highlighting all of the different facets of the broad College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. WLC will be hosting a week long exploration of interdisciplinary research through short, quick presentations in the “Pecha Kucha” style. Watch for more info soon!
  • This semester, we be supporting over a dozen visiting lecturers! Their lecture topics will range from The World Bank to writing for a professional publication to “blaxicans” and everything in between; follow us on social media for more!
  • Our department-owned seminar room, 3158, has gotten a facelift! Check out these inside peeks of the new space!
